Manaslu circuit trek accommodation

When it comes to trekking the accommodation sector is central, as people traveling to different places require somewhere to sleep, rest, stay, and unwind. In fact, travelers who stay exceed 24 hours and use some form of overnight accommodation. In the case of Manaslu circuit trek, it is one of the best teahouse treks in Nepal and regarded to be the best alternative to Annapurna Circuit Trek. All of the teahouses of the Manaslu circuit are operated by the local communities along the trek. Most of the teahouses offer basic services but have very common places for dining and relaxing, which is a great place to stay warm around the fire at night.

Camping is also doable during the Manaslu circuit trek. But most travelers and trekkers prefer teahouses as it is easy and convenient. The rooms of the tea houses are also basic: separate bathrooms in some places or twin sharing with shared bathrooms. Similarly, the tea house owner provides you with a blanket, however; having your sleeping bag is much more convenient as the nights can get very chilly. Tea Houses in Manaslu Region

Accommodation in Soti Khola

After leaving Kathmandu, you will reach Soti Khola which is 140 kilometers far. If you depart early in the morning, you can skip Soti Khola and stay in Machchha Khola. However, if you want to stay here then search for these five hotels. These hotels offer basic facilities for food and rooms. In addition, every hotel has Wifi services and Phones for communication.

Furthermore, to reach Soti Khola, you can take a direct bus or public jeep. It takes nearly eight hours to reach there.

Accommodation in Machchha Khola

While at Machchha Khola, you will have the option of four different teahouses. Similar to the hotel in Soti Khola, the hotel here also offers basic service including food and lodging.  This place also offers wifi and a hot shower but you have to pay extra for these charges. Similarly, during the trail, you will encounter many mules and local people. You can interact with them and learn some Nepali words like Namaste. Accommodation in Jagat

After having breakfast in the morning at Machchha Khola, you will head along the bank of the gorge and continues up the river, and reach the village named Jagat. Jagat is a small beautiful Gurung village nestled in the jungle high above, as well as Langur monkeys, which roam the region. Here is some famous hotel in Jagat:

Accommodation in Deng

Deng is another stop during your trek at the Manaslu circuit trek. In Deng there are three guest houses which are listed below:

Some of the teahouses offer wifi services and satellite phones service, but they will charge you extra for using these services. Likewise, Jagat is a restricted area of the Manaslu trek and the Tsum Valley trek starts from this village. Thus, there will be a check post where you have to show your permit at a checkpoint on your way to Deng and register it. However, these place does not have access to a hot shower.

Accommodation in Namrung

Namrung is another beautiful Gurung village that is on its way toward the Manaslu circuit. To reach here, it takes around 6 to 7 hours to trek.  Several tea houses in Namrung offer hot showers and Wifi services.  Here is the list of teahouses at Namrung:

Accommodation in Lho

Accommodation in Sama Gaun

Following Lho you will reach a beautiful village, named Sama Gaun which is at an altitude of 3530 meters. The beautiful Gurung village is located on the lap of mountains like Manaslu, Naike peak, and Mount Himalchuli. The village has a total of seven teahouses which are listed below:

  • Nobri Valley Guest House

All of these hotels offer services like hot showers, Wifi, and satellite phones. However, the price of the wifi and other services might be differing from one teahouse to another. Thus, before making a deal to live hotel asks for everything including the night stay price and food price.

Accommodation in Samdo

After walking about four hours from Sama Gaun you will reach another Gurung village, named Samdo. In Samdo, there are three guest houses, that offer services like wifi, food, and lodging. Three guest houses of Samdo are

Accommodation in Dharmasala

By now, you might already have got an idea the number of teahouses is decreasing as the altitude is increasing. Following Samdo, you will reach Dharmasala which has only two guest houses. Both of the guest houses offer basic services and they don’t have services like wifi, satellite phone, and hot shower. However, one can enjoy the traditional Gurung culture and lifestyle.

Accommodation in Bimthang

After enjoying the authentic Nepalese lifestyle your next stop will be at Bimthang. Bimthang has four teahouses that offer the services like hot showers, Wifi, and so on. They are:

  • Himalayan G

Accommodation in Dharapani

Your last destination and stop during the Manaslu circuit trek is Dharapani. From here you will head back to Kathmandu. This place is the Annapurna circuit trekking beginning point. So, you can witness some mountains of the Annapurna region as well from Dharapani.

Talking about the accommodation of Dharapani there are a plethora of teahouses that offers services like attached toilets, hotel shower, and wifi. Choosing between these hotels might be hard but ask some locals and they will help you. Remember to charge your batteries here.

Tentative Cost for Manaslu trek Accommodations

Speaking of the expenses of the Manaslu trek accommodation, it highly depends on the trekking season and the altitude. Normally, the tea houses cost you around US $3 to $5 in high seasons in lower altitudes. But, as you go to the larger size, it can cost you from US $7 to S10.

However, the cost might drop down during off-seasons. The accommodation cost can range from US $5 to $7 at the larger size while ranging from US $2 to $3 at lower altitudes. Thus, all the costs depend upon the one who is traveling if you want to have a fancier place and expensive food then the charge might get higher.

Electricity in the Manaslu circuit

Many of you might be curious about the electricity condition of the whole Manaslu circuit. Yet throughout most of the place of Manaslu circuit, the facility of electricity is available. Settlements at lower altitudes of Manaslu are connected to the national grid. However, power outages are common in the region. In recent years, this issue has been reduced.

On the other hand, the settlements at higher elevations of Manaslu are not connected to the national grid. On the alternate of that, they use mainly solar power and as a result, the available electricity has a low voltage. On cloudy days, electricity might not be available. Thus, charging batteries and other electrical equipment at higher settlements might be costly. So, it is recommended that you bring a power bank or solar charger to charge them.

Overall, teahouses of the Manaslu circuit offer basic services that include wifi, a hot shower, an attached bathroom, and so on.
